Twiddle Muffs

Not just a great phrase!  The twiddle muffs is a project that has been running recently, based on an idea originally created by Margaret Light for her grandmother Lily.  The creation came about because Lily needed something to do with her hands to keep them busy and a way to keep them warm at the same time, but as she was becoming older her eyesight was fading.  Since then it's been discovered that Twiddle Muffs are actually fantastic for people with dementia!
With the guidance of the Diss team, Twiddle Muffs have been knitted by local people and then distributed to different homes and people in the area.  So far there have been over 40 created by local helpers and more and more being made all the time!
